    Present:
    Jan Henderson, Jennifer Conard, Mark Huddleston, David Meloy and Becky Wichers.
    Absent:
    Doug Krieger, Caren Luke, Tom Spread and Jeffrey Stone.

    Acting President, David Meloy, opened the meeting.
    Visitors:
    None present.
    Minutes:
    It was moved by Mark Huddleston, seconded by Jennifer Conard to approve the minutes of the
    August 18, 2010 regular meeting as presented. Motion carried.
    Bills:
    It was moved by Mark Huddleston, seconded by Becky Wichers to approve for payment monthly
    bills totaling $8,884.98. Motion Carried. Mark Huddleston and Becky Wichers signed the Schedule of
    Bills by Fund and the Monthly Log of Credit Card Expenditures.

    Building & Grounds:
    Mark Huddleston reported.
    1)
    United Way Day of Caring 
    volunteers from HON Geneva Plant and Holiday Inn did a great 
    job cleaning up the grounds.

     Jayne house
     property cleared and ready for Parks & Recreation to seed.   
     
    3)
    Security/Fire Alarm System Update
    - The security system is 99 percent installed and staff
    will be scheduled for training.
     
    Finance & Budget:

    Monthly Financials
    – The August monthly financial reports were not received

    Support Foundation Budget (Month Ended August 31, 2010)
    – Listed under “Exhibition -
    City of Muscatine Payroll” an expense of $12,419.35 is for Andy Tabor and Virginia Cooper
    wages.

    No report.

    Barb Christensen reported.
    1)
    Sue Muir,
    retired teacher and volunteer at the Art Center, is the new part time employee
    working every other Saturday. Sue and Katie Doherty are filling the hours created by the
    resignation of Deidre Pearson.

    Minutes – September 16, 2010 Meeting 
    Program/Publicity
    : Barb Christensen reported for David Meloy.
    1)
    Springs Sprockets and Pulleys coffee mugs
    are available for purchase for $6.00 at the Art
    Center.
    2)
    Springs Sprockets and Pulleys
    exhibit extended through January 9, 2011.
    3)
    Sunday with Santa
    will be a separate event this year on November 14, 2010 from 1:00 –
    5:00 pm.
    4)
    The Friends Festival of Wreaths
    in the mansion on Saturday, November 20, 2010, will
    include wine tasting stations by Wine Nutz.
    5)
    Festival of Wreaths’ Auction
    idea presented. It has been proposed to auction off a sit down
    dinner for 6-8 people. The after-hours dinner, hosted by the Art Center staff, will be served in
    either the music room or dining room. Following discussion, the Board approved going
    forward with the fundraiser.
    6)
    4-H Show
    will be on view during the month of October in the Musser Mansion Gallery.
    Directors Report
    : Barb Christensen reported.
    1)
    Japanese Garden Wedding fees and deposits
    discussed. Due to issues that have arisen
    this summer, there has been a discussion to raise the deposit and garden rental fees to
    compensate for additional clean up work by the Art Center staff. No definitive revised
    amounts discussed.
    Unfinished Business
    : David Meloy reported.

    David Eckhardt Estate
    . Attorney Bill Hargrafen provided documents for signature. David
    Meloy will go over the documents with Tom Spread before signing.
    New Business
    :

    2010-2011 Committee Assignment
    questions raised and Barb Christensen will review the
    list. If necessary, a new list of committee assignments will be distributed at the next meeting.
