President, Tom Spread, opened the meeting.
Minutes:
It was moved by David Meloy, seconded by Caren Luke to approve
the minutes of the
February 18, 2010
regular meeting as presented. Motion
carried.
Bills:
It was moved by Jan Henderson, seconded by Jeffrey Stone to approve
for payment monthly bills totaling $3,858.33. Motion carried.

Collections:

Building & Grounds:
Barb Christensen reported in Chairman Mark
Huddleston’s absence:
1)
Jayne House
– Scheduled for moving on Wednesday, March 24.
Brian Costas’ change of date request is on the City Council agenda for
consideration and approval at its regular meeting this evening.
2)
Iowa Arts Council Grant
– Barb is applying for a matching funds grant
up to $10,000 from the Iowa Arts Council for a landscape plan to include existing
beech trees and partial house foundation for public art area. The grant
application is due by April 1, 2010.
3)
Security/Fire Alarm System
– Tabled until the April meeting.
Finance & Budget:
Caren Luke reported.
Monthly Financials
– The February 2010 monthly financial reports were
received and reviewed. No action required.
Long-Range Planning
: No report.

Personnel:
Barb Christensen reported.
1) Barb is meeting with Nancy Lueck on Monday, March 22, 2010, to
review personnel changes and new budget.
2) Barb reported that artist Steve Gerberich, Spring Sprockets & Pulleys,
was highly complimentary of the assistance he received from the Art Center staff
and Muscatine Public Works Department in setting up his exhibit.

1)
Springs Sprockets & Pulleys (March 13 and 14, 2010):

Members Only reception on Saturday, March 13, 2010, from
5:00 – 7:00 PM and the Public Reception on Sunday, March 14,
2010, from 1:00 – 5:00 PM were both very well attended. The
Members preview had an attendance around 125 and the public
opening was packed out with many new families attending.
■
Artist, Steve Gerberich appeared on the Paula Sands Live
program on March 10, 2010.
■
A very nice article appeared in the A&E section of the March 10,
2010 edition of the
Muscatine Journal
.
2)
Muscatine Autoharp Club
will hold jam sessions in the music room of
the Musser Museum every third Saturday of the month from 1:00 – 3:00 PM (No
April program).
3)
Pearl City Players
will present an
Old Time Radio Show
live at 2:00
PM in the music room of the Musser Museum on April 15 (Sunday) and April 18
(Sunday).
