AIRPORT ADVISORY COMMISSION MINUTES
MONDAY – APRIL 28, 2008
AIRPORT TERMINAL BUILDING
The Muscatine Airport Advisory Commission meeting was called to order at 5:18 p.m. by
Chairperson Jerry Page. Other Commission members present were Phil Fitzgerald and Wayne Tooman. Also
present were City Administrator A.J. Johnson and Airport Manager Janet Lewis.
The first item on the agenda was approval of the minutes of the March 24, 2008 meeting.
It was moved by Commission member Tooman and seconded by Commission member Fitzgerald that
the minutes be approved. There was no discussion and the minutes were approved unanimously.
The next item on the agenda was a review of the financial reports. Commission member Fitzgerald
moved they be approved. Commission member Tooman seconded that motion. They were unanimously
approved.
The City Administrator briefly reviewed a revised five-year capital project listing that was previously
sent out to the Commission members. There was discussion concerning the upcoming vote by City Council
on the new snow plow and truck for the city. He indicated that the monies that were originally set aside by the
FAA at $150,000 had been reduced to $118,000. Those funds will still be sufficient to cover the necessary
cost for the replacement of the truck and the plow but not for the city to buy another plow.
There was also general discussion about fuel dispensing at the airport and the specific provisions that
the city could put in place to make this difficult for everyone but the FBO. Questions concerning liability,
corporate usage, lease of the buildings, etc., were raised.
The meeting adjourned at 6:12 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
A.J. Johnson
City Administrator
