On 02-14-08, the Muscatine Police Department arrested Anna Cantu (18 year old female)

Street Muscatine Iowa for one count of theft in the first degree (Class C

Felony). Also arrested in this investigations were Juan M. Garcia (33 year old male) of

2310 Long Meadow Lane Muscatine Iowa, Ana Rojas (38 year old female) of 2310 Long

Meadow Lane Muscatine Iowa, Sonia Janet Ramos (16 year old JUVENILE) of 101 W

St Muscatine Iowa for one count of aid and abet; theft in the second degree (Class D

Felony). Micaela Perales (31 year old female) of 1602 Lucas Street Muscatine Iowa was

also charged with aid and abet; theft in the third degree (Aggravated misdemeanor) for

her involvement in the crime.

On 01-06-08 the Muscatine Police Department took a report of theft from Elder-Beerman

Retail Store (1903 Park Avenue Muscatine Iowa) resulting in a subsequent investigation

which identifying the aforementioned individuals as parties involved.

The investigation of these offenses continues. The above listed individuals should be

considered innocent of the aforementioned crime until proven otherwise by a court of

law.

A class C felony is punishable by a maximum ten-year prison term and a fine not to

exceed ten thousand dollars. A class D felony is punishable by a maximum five-year

prison term and a fine not to exceed seven thousand five hundred dollars. An aggravated

misdemeanor is punishable by a maximum two-year prison term and a fine not to exceed

five thousand dollars.

All individuals were released on signature for their promise to appear in court at a later

date.
