      On 02-13-08, the Muscatine Police Department arrested Gregg Coombs (39 year old
      male) of 312 Iowa Avenue Muscatine Iowa for one count of robbery in the second degree
      (Class C Felony), one count of theft in the first degree (Class C Felony), one count of
      operation without owners consent (Aggravated Misdemeanor) and one count of theft in
      the fifth degree (Simple Misdemeanor) for his involvement in a series of criminal offense
      (robberies/theft) in Muscatine Iowa.
      On 02-11-08 the Muscatine Police Department responded to two-robbery/theft
      investigation that occurred in two area businesses (Kum and Go 1010 Park Avenue
      Muscatine and Steamboat Landing 3509 Steamboat Way Muscatine Iowa). Subsequent
      investigation was conducted identifying Coombs as the offender in the aforementioned
      crimes.
      The investigation of these offenses continues. Coombs should be considered innocent of
      the aforementioned crime until proven otherwise by a court of law.
      A class C felony is punishable by a maximum ten-year prison term and a fine not to
      exceed ten thousand dollars. An aggravated misdemeanor is punishable by a maximum
      two-year prison term and a fine not to exceed five thousand dollars. A simple
      misdemeanor is punishable by a fine of at least fifty dollars but not to exceed five
      hundred dollars. The court may order imprisonment not to exceed thirty days in lieu of a
      fine or in addition to a fine.
      Coombs is being held in the Muscatine County Jail on $16,500 bond.
