Press Release

“Cop Cards”
The Muscatine Police Department recently made Cop Cards for all the
officers on the department as well as the non sworn personnel. The
cards were made in an effort to promote community policing as well
fostering increased interaction between officers of the Muscatine Police
Department and our community.
Children and adults are encouraged to approach officers when they are
on patrol and ask for one of his/her cards. We only ask that you wait
until the officer has completed whatever law enforcement activity that
he/she is engaged in at the time prior to making the request. This is for
yours as well as the officer’s safety.
The first three people to collect a full set of cards (41) will be eligible for
their choice of either a ride-along which will include breakfast, lunch or
dinner with the host officer, or a gift card valued at $25 from a local
vendor of his/her choice. Persons under age 14 are not eligible for the
ride-along, but will be picked up (with parental permission) at their
residence, taken to breakfast, lunch or dinner, and then returned home.
Persons between the ages of 14-18 may choose the ride-along, but must
have a signed parental consent form prior to the ride-along. Employees,
family members of employees, and relatives of employees are excluded
from this offer.
