    AIRPORT ADVISORY COMMISSION MINUTES
    MONDAY – FEBRUARY 27, 2006
    AIRPORT TERMINAL BUILDING
     
     
    The Muscatine Airport Advisory Commission meeting was called to order at 5:15 p.m. by
    Commission Chairperson Stacy Lewis. Other Commission members present were Jerald Cale, Phil Fitzgerald,
    and Jerry Page. Also present were City Administrator A.J. Johnson and Mike Woerly, representing the
    airport.
     
    The first item on the agenda was the approval of the minutes of September 26, 2005. It was moved by
    Jerry Page, seconded by Jerald Cale, to approve the minutes. All ayes; motion carried.
     
    The Commission then received the financial reports as explained by the City Administrator.
     
    The next item on the agenda was an update on the National Guard Armory Construction Project. City
    Administrator Johnson stated that a recent communication with the Iowa National Guard indicated they still
    plan to move forward on this project. They anticipate funding opportunities to be presented to them for
    construction beginning at the earliest the fall of 2007 through the fall of 2008. The city will proceed with
    finalizing an exchange agreement with the Iowa National Guard in anticipation of this activity taking place.
     
    There was also general discussion concerning the crosswind taxiway construction project that is
    ongoing, the opportunities to lobby FAA directly in Kansas City, the possibility of the construction of new t­
    hangars, and improvements at the general aviation hangar. There was also discussion concerning the recent
    ice storm and material that the airport should have on hand to combat this. City Administrator Johnson
    authorized the purchase of non­salt ice melting product to be used at the airport. He also authorized airport
    staff to utilize an outside contractor for putting the material down.
     
    With no other business to discuss, the meeting adjourned at 5:55 p.m.
