AIRPORT ADVISORY COMMISSION MINUTES
MONDAY – MARCH 24, 2008
AIRPORT TERMINAL BUILDING
The Muscatine Airport Advisory Commission meeting was called to order at 5:23 p.m. by
Chairperson Jerry Page. Other Commission members present were Phil Fitzgerald, Wayne Tooman, and
Jerald Cale. Also present were City Administrator A.J. Johnson and Airport Manager Janet Lewis.
The first item on the agenda was approval of the minutes of the November 26, 2007 meeting.
It was moved by Commission member Tooman and seconded by Commission member Fitzgerald that
the minutes be approved. There was no discussion and the minutes were approved unanimously.
The next item on the agenda was a review of the financial reports. City Administrator Johnson stated
there was additional financial information that will be distributed to the Commission members. He did note
that expenses related to snow removal were up over the last several years.
The next item on the agenda was a review of the five-year capital improvement plan. City
Administrator Johnson stated this plan will be submitted to the FAA and the state aviation officials as
required for future federal and state funding. There was also discussion concerning the t-hangars and snow
removal equipment. After a lengthy discussion on the t-hangars, City Administrator Johnson will be in
contact with the city’s airport consultant group to get a full assessment of the t-hangar request for federal
funding, drainage issues, etc. There was also discussion concerning the current lease arrangement and the
viability of the current waiting list for hangar rentals. City Administrator Johnson will review this as well.
City Administrator Johnson then reported that the National Guard plans a fall groundbreaking for the
new Armory.
There were no further comments.
With no further business to discuss, the meeting adjourned at 6:26 p.m.
