    AIRPORT ADVISORY COMMISSION MINUTES
    MONDAY – AUGUST 28, 2006
    AIRPORT TERMINAL BUILDING

The Muscatine Airport Advisory Commission meeting was called to order at 5:05 p.m. by Acting
Commission Chairperson Jerry Page. Commission members present were Jerry Page, Phil Fitzgerald, and
Wayne Tooman. Also present were City Administrator A.J. Johnson and Airport Manager Janet Lewis.

The Commission welcomed new member Wayne Tooman who replaced D. Stacy Lewis whose term
    had expired.

There were no formal items on the agenda for consideration and there was generalized discussion by
Commission members concerning ongoing projects, funding opportunities with the FAA with the possibility
of a facetoface meeting with FAA officials, and operational issues at the airport.

In recognizing that former Chairperson Stacy Lewis’ term had expired and he is no longer eligible to
serve on the Commission, the Commission members took action to elect Jerry Page as the new Chairperson.
That nomination was forwarded by Commission member Fitzgerald and was seconded by Wayne Tooman.
All members voted to approve the appointment.

There was also discussion concerning the meeting schedules of the Commission. City Administrator
Johnson suggested they meet on a quarterly basis due to the general lack of activity at the airport. He noted
that administrative items can be handled through the Airport Manager and the City Administrator’s office on
a regular basis as they are now. After some discussion, it was determined by the Commission members that
they continue to have a monthly meeting through calendar year 2006 and then reassess their meeting schedule
    in January 2007.

The City Administrator will also be following up on scheduling for information from the FAA,
including allocation of dollars, project schedules, etc. There was also a question raised as to the location of
the FAA headquarters that had been rumored to be moving from the Kansas City office.

Finally it was discussed that there will be a meeting as soon as possible with the airport management
and city officials along with the individuals who are currently renting the farm land to discuss procedures for
utilizing entrances and exits and travel along farm property.

With no other business to discuss, the meeting adjourned at 6:05 p.m.

    Respectfully submitted,

    A.J. Johnson
    City Administrator
